CONCEPT + CREATIVE DIRECTION

Wall mural that illustrates the effects of the Santa Ana Winds on the California coast. This project was in collaboration with illustrator Owen Gildersleeve for the Earth Science and Research Formulation Office. The artwork is made up of over 700 meticulously hand cut and hand painted leaves that vary in size to demonstrate wind speed and temperature. Upon closer look, some leaves are carved with illustrations that highlight the benefits (octopi and plankton in marine life) and risks (landslides and fires on land) of these winds.
