ETERNAL ECLIPSE
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT + CREATIVE DIRECTION
Eternal Eclipse is a concept for an art installation that uses sunlight to activate an area of JPL’s campus that is industrial but has a high flow of visitor traffic. A circular shape facade attached to a building represents a moon or planet that blocks sunlight creating an eclipse. A second disk on an adjacent building represents a sun that amplifies a yellow glow. The road surfaces are painted with a data visualization showing the amount of sunlight in each zone. This concept transforms a parking lot by literally bringing a celestial experience down to Earth. This project is a collaboration with Joseph Kennedy.
